How we help with Board and CEO succession planning

  • Developing candidate briefs and planning searches for suitable candidates by identifying the skills a Board possesses and the skills required against an evolving Board Skills Matrix, and by aligning the matrix to the company, its strategy, operating market(s), and Company and Board culture.
  • Providing recommendations and guidance on Board composition to ensure Boards possess the breadth of skills needed to enhance their effectiveness, and in turn drive company performance, while concurrently discharging obligations to shareholders and stakeholders.
  • Assisting Boards to proactively engage in an ongoing programme of CEO succession planning, both by identifying, assessing and developing internal talent, as well as identifying and monitoring external CEO prospects.

How we help with Board and company performance

  • Conducting regular annual or biennial Board Performance Reviews to assess the performance of a Board as a whole, and to review the performance of individual Directors, including the Chair is important for continuous governance improvement.
  • Identifying and addressing matters of key importance to the Company and Board over the short, medium and long term and developing an action plan for implementation.
  • Coaching and mentoring Chairs and Directors on an individual basis on matters of practical corporate governance and to help in relation to creating and implementing company strategy.
  • Helping Boards to review and respond to complex matters; assessing opportunities, identifying key company risks and how they might be mitigated; planning broad strategic and governance agendas, and advising on communication and engagement strategies with the market, including shareholders, stakeholders, proxy advisors and others.
